Today we celebrate:

National Chocolate Mint Day – Chocolate and mint, my favorite combination of flavors. I'll have to find some Andes Candies.

Iwo Jima Day – Begun on this day in 1945, the fighting at Iwo Jima lasted more than a month with very heavy casualties for the U.S. and for the Japanese because surrender for either side was not an option or even a consideration. Thousands of men died that day and in the month following.

Single Tasking Day – Women in general (and myself in particular) have difficulty with this idea of doing just one thing at a time. Well, today we need to work on this. Choose a task and focus on completing it before you chose another task. Multi-tasking has it's place, but single tasking will help with your focus and you might just get things done faster today since you won't be spending time switching back and forth among all the balls you have up in the air.

You have an easy celebration day today. Make a list of the things you wish to accomplish today and work on them one at a time. To reward yourself after completing each task, have a chocolate mint. Then, when you have finished your list, add one more task. Read up on Iwo Jima and spend some time thinking about all the brave soldiers on both sides who fought there and lost their lives. They deserve to be remembered.
