Today we celebrate:

Dance Like A Chicken Day – You all know the Chicken Dance, I'm sure. Well, today you'll be dancing like a chicken all day long.

National Chocolate Chip Day – Chocolate chips are a treat all by themselves but they are even better when baked in other things like cookies and brownies and cakes. I'm making myself hungry.

National Buttermilk Biscuit Day – Flaky, buttery, deliciousness would be a great addition to dinner this evening.

The Stars And Stripes Forever Day – This is a day to revel in a spirit of nationality. Let our stars and stripes fly forever.

Shavuot – This Jewish holiday begins this evening at sunset and ends on the evening of May 16th. This day is known as the Feast of Weeks, and is associated with the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai.

Underground America Day – Created in 1974 by Malcolm Wells, this is a day to think about the ground. It may surprise you to know that many people live within it instead of on it like the rest of us and it is definitely something to consider if you find yourself thinking that you would really like to have more grass to mow and more room to plant flowers. Mr. Wells has some celebration ideas you may like to consider at: http://www.malcolmwells.com/uaday.html

To celebrate today, dance like a chicken while you bake some chocolate chip buttermilk biscuits, in your underground kitchen with the American flag hanging on the wall, for the Shavuot feast.
