in 1995, this is a day to talk like a pirate. Although it started
out as a private joke between the two of them, they eventually sent a
letter about it to humor columnist, Dave Barry, who liked the idea

Butterscotch Pudding Day
– I love to mix butterscotch pudding with vanilla ice cream. But
plain old butterscotch pudding is pretty darn delicious as well.
To
celebrate today, eat butterscotch pudding all day while you talk to
everyone like you are a bonafide, crusty, old pirate. Ahoy!
