Fragrance Day – Today is a day to celebrate smells. All the things in this world that smell good. Of course, different people have different definitions of good smells. Do you smell good today? Maybe you're wearing some flowers or perfume? Maybe you need to?
International Day For The Elimination Of Racial Discrimination – Created by the United Nations General Assembly in 1979, this is a day to do something to promote diversity. How boring would life be if we were all the same? Celebrate differences instead of condemning them. World Poetry Day – Created by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization in 1999, this is a day to appreciate poetry of all kinds and to give your support to poets all over the world.
Memory Day – I think we all have days when our memory is not so good. So today, do something to try to improve your memory. Memory or brain games are a good option. If you can't remember to do that, try walking down memory lane with yourself and spend some time remembering some of the important events in your life.
World Down Syndrome Day – Created nine years ago, this is a day to celebrate the amazing abilities of people with down syndrome. Having a disability only means that you have to work a little harder to achieve what you want to achieve. It does not mean that it is impossible. National Day Of Action On Syringe Exchange – This is a call to action. Many people are working hard to try to get Congress to reinstate their program of exchanging money for syringes. Apparently it's an attempt to get people to turn their syringes in to the government instead of using them for drugs.
National French Bread Day – Who does not love baguettes. Fresh from the oven, it's a little piece of heaven to a bread lover. Just the thought is making my mouth water and making me want to make some for my family to enjoy.
Single Parent's Day – Being a single parent is a challenge I don't like to contemplate. It's hard enough to be a parent when you have a partner to help you. Today is a day to honor the single parents you know for the very hard work they do. Sometimes if one spouse is away for long periods of time, such as those in the military, the spouse who stays behind is just like a single parent, so we honor you today as well. This day was begun by Janice Moglen in 1984.
National Common Courtesy Day – Common courtesy is hard to find these days. Work on teaching your children about this subject today. Please and thank you and holding doors for people goes a long way toward making everyone's day more enjoyable.
Spring Fairy Fun Day – This is a day that is all about spring and fairies. We've had a rough winter this year so we are ready to celebrate anything to do with spring. A great way to celebrate would be to make some crafts with the kids.
