Today we celebrate:

National Dollar Day - The Continental Congress created our monetary system on this day in 1786.  We didn’t have dollar bills then because no one believed paper had any value.  But we did have coins of various values and it quickly became part of our language.  This web site has  list of quotes that all involve money in some way. http://www.examiner.com/article/national-dollar-day-famous-and-not-so-famous-quotes-about-money

National Frozen Custard Day – A little bit different from ice cream, but just as delicious.

The Date to Create – This is a day to be creative. It seems to be celebrated on the eighth because “eight” rhymes with “create”. I couldn't find much more information about this day so I guess it means you can be creative in any manner you like whether it is in an artistic field or an inventive one or any other field you care to embark on.  I plan to be creative with pictures with the help of my new friend Scratchz Padz at Artists Wayward Online Legion (AWOL)

Universal & International Infinity Day – Created by Jean-Pierre Ady Fenyo in 1987, a Philosopher and Science-Fiction author, also known as The Original New York City Free Advice Man. This day is to be celebrated with peaceful and non-violent demonstrations for freedom of expression, freedom of speech and ethics in society and philosophical inquiry. It is called Infinity Day because most philosophers agree that the idea of infinity is the ultimate idea that the human mind can conceive of.

Happiness Happens Day – This day was created by the Secret Society of Happy People. On this day in 1998, the Society signed up it's first member who was not related to the founder so they chose this day for their first Happiness Happens Day in 1999. It doesn't really say how this day should be celebrated on the web site, but I imagine the goal is to find happiness no matter what happens today. http://sohp.com/

Odie Day – Garfield fans will know right away that Odie is the dog that lives with Garfield. He's pretty goofy and is constantly slobbering all over everyone and everything. He first appeared in the comic on this day in 1978 and has been a fixture ever since.

Kool-Aid Day – Celebrated on the second weekend in August, this is a day to celebrate Kool-Aid. Created in 1927 by Edwin E. Perkins, this drink mix was the first of it's kind and came in raspberry, cherry, grape, lemon, orange and root-beer. There were many setbacks and a name change (it was originally Kool-Ade) on the road to making it a household name but he persevered through it all. http://kool-aiddays.com/history/#sthash.Xdj4cADb.dpbs

National Zucchini Day – This is a day to cook with zucchini. If you have some growing in your garden, they are best when they are on the small side. But if they get away from you and get too big, you can always make delicious zucchini bread, which is my children’s preferred method of eating this particular vegetable.

Worldwide Art Day – Celebrated on the second Friday in August, this is a day to celebrate art in all of its forms all around the world. Encourage creativity in others and share your own creativity with the world.

To celebrate everything in one day, start by spending a few dollars buying some Garfield comics to see what Odie is up to. Then read a book on Philosophy to see if it inspires you to be creative in some artistic endeavor of your choice. Make sure whatever you choose makes you happy. Finish up the day with zucchini, Kool-Aid and frozen custard.
