National Airborne Day – This day was created by George W. Bush in 2001 and approved by the United States Congress. The purpose of today is to honor our nation's airborne branch of the Armed Forces. Airborne fighting tactics have been very important to the success of innumerable battles during every war since it's creation right after World War I.
Joe Miller's Joke Day – This is a day to tell a joke in celebration of Joseph Miller, an English comic actor born sometime in the year 1684. He died on this day in 1738. National Rum Day – All of my children love watching Pirates of the Caribbean. If you have seen any of those movies, you know that Captain Jack Sparrow loves rum but frequently finds that somehow it is mysteriously missing. If you enjoy drinking it too, and you are 21 years of age or older, this is a day for you. Hopefully you won’t find yourself in the Captain’s predicament of wondering, “Why is the rum always gone?”
