Today we celebrate:

Have a Party with your Bear Day - Everyone loves a party, even bears. Send out invitations to include all of your friend’s bears, plan the menu and dress up your bear. Then have some fun!

National Button Day - This is a day for old buttons.  I love old buttons. There are an absolutely endless number of different styles and sizes and colors. I could look through tins of old buttons for hours. I’ve started my own collection but it takes time to build up a big enough one to be interesting.

National Fast Food Day - Some people live on fast food, others avoid it like it’s the plague. We tend to live a happy medium and I do try to choose items on fast food menus that are as healthy as possible such as a salad but frankly sometimes either dinner is fast or there is no dinner. The first fast food establishment that I am aware of was a hot dog stand on Coney Island that opened in 1867.

International Day for Tolerance – In 1996, the United Nations General Assembly invited its' Member States to observe this day every year with activities geared toward educating their populations about how important tolerance of others is to world peace.

To celebrate today, teach your children about being tolerant of others over a fast food dinner. Then put on some clothes with buttons and throw a party for your bear.
