Today we celebrate:

National Brandied Fruit Day – A bowl of fruit, some sugar and a little brandy. That's all it takes to get a delicious bowl of brandied fruit.

National Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day – This is a day to show your appreciation for the dedication of your child's Sunday School Teacher. Most, if not all, Sunday School Teachers are volunteers who prepare for class on their own time. Make sure they know you appreciate their efforts on your child's behalf.

Information Overload Day – Celebrated by some on October 21st, this is a day to back away from the information that bombards us all day long from a plethora of sources. We can't seem to escape it no matter where we are and sometimes it gets to be too much. Shut off your computers, televisions, radios and cell phones. Do not leave your house for a while and just bask in the silence.
Miss American Rose Day – This is a pageant that is focused on achievements and community service rather than beauty for girls and women of all ages. To celebrate this day, treat all the women in your life like beautiful American roses and perform some kind of community service.

To celebrate today, give a bowl of brandied fruit to your child's Sunday School Teacher, then help clean up your Church for a community service project. When you get home, spend some time in information isolation to recharge, then make a lovely dinner for the women in your life.
