Chocolate Day - This is the third day of Valentine’s week and is officially my favorite. I love chocolate. It is a traditional gift that is given to one’s love interest at this time of year or any time that you have an excuse to give a gift.
Pizza Pie Day - Today we celebrate my children’s favorite meal. They are traditionalists and prefer just plain cheese or cheese with sausage or pepperoni. I know some of you out there get very creative which I think is great…..as long as I don’t have to eat it.
National Bagel Day - This is a day that celebrates those delicious circles of bread that we call bagels. Some bagel companies may give away free ones to celebrate this day. It doesn’t hurt to ask at your favorite piece of bagel heaven. This day is very timely as today is also...
National Bagels & Lox Day – This is a typical Jewish-American dish, but is very popular with other cultures as well. Bagels were first created in Poland way back in the 1600s and being a circle shape, they represent the circle of life. Lox, thinly sliced cured salmon, represents the saltiness of tears. Putting the two together became popular back in the 1800s in America although you certainly find it in many other countries as well. You can also add things such as cream cheese, onions and capers.
Read In The Bathtub Day – Relax in a quiet bathroom, in a warm tub full of water, with a good book and maybe even a glass of wine if you're old enough. Just be careful you don't fall asleep and get your book wet.
National Toothache Day – I cannot fathom why we would celebrate pain, but here it is. If you insist on celebrating this day, you may want to do it from a dentist's office where you can get some relief right away. Most toothaches are caused by problems with your teeth of some kind and a dentist is better qualified than anyone else to figure out what the problem is and how to fix it.
