Today we celebrate:

Eat A Hoagie Day - Back on May 5th, we had National Hoagie Day.  But today is even better because today you can actually eat one of these delectable submarine sandwiches filled with your favorite meats, cheeses, sauces, vegetables and spices.

I’m On Top Of It Day - This is a day created by Cozi, and is celebrated on the second Monday of September.  It is a day to celebrate all those amazingly busy people who are able to get at least one problem area in their lives under control and organized.  They are hoping to help you do this by providing online tools that you can take advantage of.

Rosh Hashanah – This is the Jewish New Year. It begins today at sundown. Happy New Year everyone!

National Coloring Day - This was a cay created by Jace Shoemaker-Galloway for the purpose of relaxing with what some consider to be a child’s activity.  Add some color to your life and relax along with it.

National Boss/Employee Exchange Day – Celebrated on the Monday after Labor Day, this is a day to help you get along with your boss or get along with your employees, if you are the boss. The idea today is to share each other's point of view for a day. I have received no guidance on how to accomplish this seemingly monumental task, but I have faith that you will figure it out.

The Exaltation of the Holy Cross - Sometimes called Holy Cross Day or Feast of the Glorious Cross, this day marks the date of the dedication of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in 335.  Although the actual dedication was on September 13th, it was a two day event and on the 14th, a piece of the Holy Cross that Jesus Christ was crucified on, was brought out for all to see.

Star-Spangled Music Day - This day was created in 2014 by the Star Spangled Music Foundation along with the American Choral Directors Association, among others, for the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the United States National Anthem.  The creators of the day would like Americans in general and school children in particular to sing the Star-Spangled Banner, along with other patriotic songs, and learn about the history and importance of the  National Anthem.  Last year, they encouraged you all to post videos of your singing on various social media venues and mark them with the hashtag #Anthem200. I am not sure if they will be doing the same thing this year now that the 200th anniversary is over.

National Anthem Day - On this day in 1814, the Star Spangled Banner was written by  Francis Scott Key after he watched the British bombard Fort McHenry during the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812.

National Cream-Filled Doughnut Day – This is my favorite kind of doughnut and since I drive by Dunkin' Donuts every day, I guess today I'll have to stop in and get some for the family.

To celebrate today, have a cream-filled doughnut and a Hoagie while you sing the Star Spangled Banner and color flags with your boss.  Wish everyone a Happy New Year and stop in at a Catholic church for a prayer before you go home to work on getting organized.
