Today we celebrate:

Stillbirth Remembrance Day - This is a day to remember and hold in our hearts the stillborn babies of the world.  Even in this great country, thousands of babies are stillborn every year.  It is so heartbreaking for so many families who are eagerly awaiting the birth of their already beloved baby.  To have to come home with empty arms is a pain that is beyond words.  My heart goes out to each and every one of them.

Fight Procrastination Day – Are you a procrastinator? I procrastinate when it comes to cleaning things (since I do not enjoy that kind of activity) but not about things that are important to me. I imagine that most people are like that. Well, today is a day to fight that natural inclination and buckle down and get done whatever you need to get done.

Read A Book Day – This is a day to sit down with a good book and read. I know that sometimes it's hard to find time to do that but it's important to expand your horizons and to relax into another world sometimes.

Barbie Doll Day - On this day in 1959, the first Barbie doll was sold by Mattel.  She wore a black and white striped bathing suit.  The girls went wild and she was a hit.  Barbie was invented by Ruth Handler who named the doll after her daughter, Barbara.

Great Egg Toss Day - On this day in 1981, Risto Antikainen threw an egg 317 feet, 10 inches.  It was then caught by Jyrki Korhonen and it didn’t break, which is absolutely amazing.

To celebrate today, toss an egg as far as you can and say a prayer for all babies that are stillborn this year. Then, do not even think about procrastinating on your task of reading a book about Barbie dolls.
