Whole Grain Sampling Day –
Sponsored by the Whole Grain Council, the goal is to have numerous
opportunities all day for people to try different whole grains they
may have never tried before. Experiment and see what is out there
that you can add to your diet.

National Chocolate Mousse Day –
Rich and creamy, sweet and chocolatey, what could be a better
dessert?
Don't Go To Work Unless It's Fun Day
– If work is a drag, don't go today. Take a fun day off. If, on
the other hand, you have fun at your job or your boss has fun
activities planned for today, you don't want to miss out on that.
Tweed Day – You appear to have
a choice today. You can either celebrate the fabric called tweed by
wearing tweed clothing, or you can celebrate the Senator-turned-crook
William “Boss” Tweed who was born on this day in 1823. This
famous evil-doer stole up to $200 million from the public, which back
in the 1800's was a lot more than it is now.
Find A Rainbow Day – If you
can find a real rainbow, all the better, but if it's not the right
kind of day for that, make your own. There are a multitude of
rainbow crafts that you can do with your kids. Be creative!
Pony Express Day – On this day
in 1860, the Pony Express began operations. And a braver set of
mailmen has never existed in my opinion. The hazards these men
endured just to deliver mail were incredible.
Weed Out Hate: Sow The Seeds Of
Greatness Day – There is far too much hate going around, we
need to get rid of it and spread positive feelings and tolerance for our fellow man.
World Party Day – Begun in
1996, this day is focused on a world wide synchronized celebration
hoping to bring about improved social conditions. The idea being
that the opposite of war must be a great, big, humongous party.
National Day Of Hope – This is
a day to remember children who have been victims of child abuse and
neglect. http://www.rwjtrauma.org/news/Day-of-Hope-2013
National Walking Day – Lace up
your shoes and step out people, it's exercise and it's environmentally
friendly. What more could you ask for?
Paraprofessional Appreciation Day
– A paraprofessional is a person trained to assist a professional.
You find them in lots of different organizations like schools,
lawyer's offices, doctor's offices, etc. Today, all of you
paraprofessionals out there, we appreciate you.
To celebrate today, keep the car in the
garage because you're wearing tweed and moving with foot power.
You're not going to work anyway because that's no fun so you don't
need the car. Take a walk into town and find the nearest business
that might have a paraprofessional in it so you can tell them how
much you appreciate them. Then head to the grocery store for party
supplies because you're going to have a party. While you're there, make sure you educate all the people
you see about the prevalence of child abuse and the need to rid
themselves of their inner hatred and spread love instead, especially
towards children. When you get home, have fun decorating your house
with rainbows and pony express horse pictures. Then when your guests
arrive, serve them whole grains and chocolate mousse.
