Today we celebrate:

National Be Nasty Day – I'm not sure who made this day up but it was probably a grouch plotting revenge for last month's Do A Grouch A Favor Day.

International Women's Day – Created by the United Nations in 1975, it used to be called International Working Women's Day and is a day to celebrate women's social, political and economic achievements. For some countries it is an occasion for men to show their women how much they love and appreciate them much like Mother's Day and Valentine's Day in this country. Other countries are more serious about running events that stress awareness of the struggles of women all over the world.

National Peanut Cluster Day – If you like peanuts, this day is for you!

National Proofreading Day – Today is a day to double or triple check anything you write to make sure you correct any mistakes. http://www.nationalproofreadingday.com/

United Nations Day For Women's Rights And International Peace – Created two years after International Women's Day. This is a day for United Nations Member States to celebrate women in a manner in keeping with their national and historical traditions.

Girls Write Now Day – Today is a day for females of all ages, all cultures, and all countries to write. Women need to mentor women to help each other achieve their great potential.

Middle Name Pride Day – Today is a day to tell everyone you meet what your middle name is. Depending on what your middle name is, that might take a little bit of bravery on your part. Be willing to be embarrassed if that is what it takes.

To celebrate today feel free to bring out your inner grouch. I'm not sure how you're going to do that while you are eating peanut clusters and the men in your life are showing you love and appreciation, but go ahead and give it a try. Then you can proofread everything you write today, and it will be a lot to proofread because you will be writing down every idea that pops into your head today. The first of which will be a story about how you got your middle name.
