National Moscato Day – I've
never had this kind of wine before, but today is as good a day as any
to try something new. Enjoy a glass today, just be careful about how
much you drink if you have to drive home.
Occupational Safety &Health
Professionals Day - Celebrated since 2006, this is a day to
recognize the commitment of occupational safety, health, and
environmental professionals to protect people, their property and the
environment. These are the people who work hard to identify and
remove workplace hazards in all organizations. This is a two day
celebration so if you're thinking you have deja vu, you don't. You
really did see it yesterday.
Lost Sock Memorial Day – I
have a drawer that has plenty of single socks. I have no idea where
the lost socks go but I suspect that my daughter, who wears the same
size now and NEVER matches her socks (some sort of fashion trend),
swiped them. I've never really believed the whole washing machine
sock stealing conspiracy theory.
Ascension Day – Also known as
the Feast of the Ascension, this day commemorates the bodily
Ascension of Jesus Christ into Heaven and is celebrated by Christian
Churches.
School Nurse Day – School
nurses take care of our children's bumps, bruises, cuts, scrapes and
illnesses every day. They are vital to the health and wellness of
our children in public and private schools. Today is a day to let
them know how much we appreciate them.
National Children's Mental Health
Awareness Day – Created by Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration in 1994, this is a day to focus on our
children's mental health. If needed, there are a multitude of
resources available to families that need assistance with this goal.

To celebrate today, open up your
washing machine and see if your lost socks somehow got stuck in
there. Just be careful that you don't take it apart too much and
then can't put it back together. Then stop into church to celebrate
Christ's Ascension on the way to your children's school to thank the
nurse for his/her hard work on your children's behalf. Make sure you
give them your leftover occupational safety leaflets from last night.
Finish up the day with a lovely glass of moscato.
